Not too long ago, I was taking a renewal break from my work to look out the window and “caught” this raccoon drinking from a hummingbird feeder off of our back deck.

He saw me looking at him and got out of dodge! I smiled and returned to my work with some additional lightness and joy having had that unexpected connection.

Enjoying mother nature is a touchstone for me to take time to pause and cherish the moment. It provides a recalibration to keep my focus on what is most important to me in my career and life.

Over the last few days, I have been following up with my Executive clients to see how their wellness goals were coming along after our latest workshop. While some of them talked about losing weight, eating better and exercising more, I was surprised to hear that the majority of their success stories and ahas were about pausing, being in the moment and taking time to breathe. One of them shared the awareness of how critical these small acts were to his career and life!

It touched me and excited me. It reminded me of where I was and where I am now. I was a workaholic and a perfectionist and that was negatively affecting both my professional and personal life. With consistent work on myself and lots of coaching along the way, now I am truly living the lifestyle I desire.

Of course, it is not perfect because that is the nature of life! 🙂 But, I am now consistently experiencing three of my top priorities: joy, spaciousness and simplicity.
